I was in the final throes of getting my AA when I started Serious Vanity Music in 1996 as an independent record label, when the internet was just starting to open up for musicians. But long before the days of “long tails” and “aggregators”, I had been a weird little child of the 80′s, emptying my piggy bank to buy random office supplies for my “studio” at the TG&Y, and blank cassettes for my garage sale tape recorder so I could create my own shows, ads, and albums.

I still essentially do that everyday, just with a slightly bigger tape recorder. Music still rules me on every level, from big ridiculous art projects to raw rock songs and everything in between. Even though the indie music landscape has changed since I first launched my biz, and Serious Vanity Music is more of a digital content provider and production studio than it is a record label, I still love producing and releasing music of my own, as well as providing services like mastering and video production for other indies.
